A guitarist and a singer walk into a bar! The Duck Inn Bar to be precise. They were having a rock and roll jam. We met, we jammed, over time we fell in love and we've been making beautiful music together ever since. Strings and Sings is a musical duo comprised of Jen Bush and Paul Bremner that brings together the unique flavors of a rocking Glaswegian guitarist and a NYC singer. Our passion for music has created a bond like no other, as we explore the melodies of life together. Join us on this exciting journey.
JEN BUSH started fronting rock bands in 2002. She ran and performed at a live band karaoke for 6 years at Underscore in New York City. She also ran jams at a place called The Studio where she cultivated her musical skills. Jen not only sings but plays guitar, keys, a bit of bass and a bit of drums. Her guitar teacher was Al Pitrelli of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra and her vocal coach was Joe Cerisano from that same band and Silver Condor with Earl Slick. She has had the honor of sharing the stage with Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister, Earl Slick of David Bowie's band, Alex Skolnick of Testament and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael Cartellone of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors. Of course, her favorite person to share the stage and her life with is Paul.
PAUL BREMNER hails from Glasgow Scotland. He has been a member of the powerhouse progressive rock band IZZ for over 25 years with 12 albums and two solo albums under his belt. (facebook.com/izzmusic) Between his previous band Schrodinger's Cat and IZZ, he has been the opening act for Kansas, Marillion, Zebra and Big Big Train. He has played internationally in Canada, Amsterdam, Ireland and at the final Night of the Prog festival in Germany. He also scored a short film in the Tribeca Film Festival as well as an Off-Broadway play.
